    Hi Andre,

Great piece! With it's stealth-like bottom and playful ensembles, there's no mistaking your title. It has a wonderful Leroy Anderson feel to it ... nice job!

    Regards,

    Frank

Thanks Frank! Funny that almost everybody tells me it reminds them of a cartoon, like Tom and Jerry, my wife told me it reminds her of the Italian movie version of "Pinocchio". I do like the old school of the Walt Disney composers, with all their little runs and jumping in the woodwinds, so maybe it has influenced me in my writing.

Frank, I never had heard of Leroy Anderson but I googled him now and heard some of his music, I love it! This is the style that I am searching for. Thanks for this comment!

These little runs indeed have a cartoonesque feeling to them, but the rest is much more Romantic, closer to Mendelssohn than to Carl Stalling (you can listen on Amazon to some samples). I like the composition, and orchestration. It has a cheerful feel, playful, and could indeed be an underscore for a movie with a kitten. For a completely self-contained composition, I feel there is not enough "distance" between the repetitions, which keeps the attention focused on a single phrase, instead of development, but the ideas themselves are good enough to support a symphonic movement. Well done.

And very playful it is! Nice job on this Andre! The handling of the winds was nice and light, the overall effect, light and airy. Very good!

Thanks, Sisco! I am glad that this piece turned out so nicely. I am working on a new piece at the moment that I still have to orchestrate and one that I already finished and am recording into GPO. GPO really gives my music much more realisme than I ever had with other software!
