    The Happiest New Year

    Happy New Year to all!

    The Happiest New Year
To the friends ever dear in the dwindling year
May your hearts be as warm in the new.
May we find ever there the affection we share,
And may days that we're parted be few.

May the treasure and wealth of contentment and health
Be your fortune the whole new year through.
May your hearts hold the gleam and the hope of a dream,
And may this be the year it comes true,
And the happiest New Year to you.
    (Copyright 2010 Geoffrey Y. Gardner)

A choral version of this was sung by the Huntington Men's Chorus this December.

An excellent poem Jeff and so well applied to your
melody. As one listens, the literary endeavor just
    falls nicely into place.

I wish you much success with this choral piece. There
are few good standards for specific New Year's music
and, in my opinion, I would like to see this included.
