In theory there is no difference between theory and practice, but in practice there is.

    Attention all you Conchers!

In just a few weeks will be the 49th Annual Conch Shell Blowing Contest
This annual Conch Shell Blowing Contest, sponsored by the Old Island Restoration Foundation, celebrates the historic importance of the conch in the Keys, where the far-reaching sounds from conch shells were used by the Calusa Indians for communication, by sailors as fog horns, and by early Key West citizens to signal salvagers that a sinking ship was spotted offshore.

I don't think I've ever seen a keyed conch shell.

Oh. Wrong kind of key. Well, I believe the conch shell in Bb has more historical significance the the newer conch shell in F.

Well, ya know, the newer rotary valve conchs are doublesided with a trigger - having both Bb and F sides.
