    Choirs & Vocal BG\'s

Anyone have any suggestions for Samples of Choirs or Backgrounds that are sold commercially? Any website you could point me to or any other source would be appreciated.
    Thanks

    Hey there Mike,

You might want to check out Symphony of Voices by Ilio/Spectrasonics. Vocal Planet is also available now (a sequel of sorts to Symphony of Voices). We have a review up of Symphony of Voices on Sonic Control by the way, it\'s really a very impressive library (although both Vocal Planet and SOV are for AKAI, they should load properly into Giga). The Spectrasonics web site is at http://www.spectrasonics.net/ .

You may also want to check out the Classical Choir series by East West ( http://www.eastwestsounds.com/ )

    Ryan.

I don’t know about SOV specifically, but usually, if you copy and paste the variations into a single gig file, the editor is smart enough to map them all to a common wav pool.

    Thanks Bill,

Could you describe this step by step? I know this is really basic stuff but I\'d really appreciate it.

On the topic of Symphony of Voices and Gigastudio:

I translated the entire library into Gigastudio using S converter a long while back. In doing so MANY of the files were duplicated because a lot of patches are variations on the same patch with just different envelopes etc.

Is there a more efficient way to translate the library into GS?

Depending on the original material, using the “Combine to Gig” of S-Convert might do the trick. This will create a single instrument with dimensions for each variation (controlled by the Mod wheel)

If you want the variations as multiple instruments in one Gig, open all the files that share the same sample pool, and copy and paste (or drag ‘n drop) them, one at a time, into a new Gig. Remember that Bank 0 is the target, not just the instrument window.

Let me know if you need more…
