    Two More Songs

    Here are two more of my early songs.

    DEATH
    by
    John Keats

    Can death be sleep, when life is but a dream,
    And scenes of bliss pass as a phantom by?
    The transient pleasures as a vision seem,
    And yet we think the greatest pain's to die.

    How strange it is that man on earth should roam,
    And lead a life of woe, but not forsake
    His rugged path; nor dare he view alone
    His future doom which is but to awake.

    INTO THE TWILIGHT
    by
    William Butler Yeats

    Out-Worn heart, in a time out-worn,
    Come clear of the nets of wrong and right;
    Laugh, heart, again in the grey twilight,
    Sigh, heart, again in the dew of the morn.

    Your mother Eire is always young,
    Dew ever shining and twilight grey;
    Though hope fall from you and love decay,
    Burning in fires of a slanderous tongue.

    Come, heart, where hill is heaped upon hill:
    For there the mystical brotherhood
    Of sun and moon and hollow and wood
    And river and stream work out their will;

    And God stands winding His lonely horn,
    And time and the world are ever in flight;
    And love is less kind than the grey twilight,
    And hope is less dear than the dew of the morn.

    Great work Sean!

    DEATH has a very intense and dramatic vocal line toward the middle i really enjoyed. Also liked the lower register piano ending.

    INTO THE TWILIGHT Good modulation (or chromaticism?) that I hear... enjoyed the change in rhythm on the piano about half way through...

    Would love to hear other instruments added...

    Thanks for posting.

    Your welcome.

    I hope you could one day hire a vocalist for your works... if that's your intention.
