    Talking The *daily* chat thread!

    Hey everyone!
So things around here have been really slow, so I thought I'd start this ridiculous thread to bolster some activity!

I'll be around every day at some point to check posts and talk with people about anything musically related. So, at bare minimum, at least I'll be here! If no one's here to talk, then I'll post a link to an interesting music article or point you to a youtube video. I love talking about music theory, practice, philosophy, and technology, and being a music major, I've got answers or at least a response to just about everything! So post away!

I got no links, I got no news, but I'll check back everyday as well. This has been a very, very slow summer in this forum!

Nice chord! One of my favorites.

Pretty much all the music forums I belong to have been really slow this summer. So this isn't the only one.

Slow in the terms of replies but not so much in views. ??
I think a lot of forum members are looking for news of what may be or is impending as far as new releases or updates. There has not been much new here from Gary and company to peak much interest. I know he does not want or even like to bait the forum with product news unless there is a definite product developed and I respect that. Bbut I think, due to that policy, we have a large group of lurkers showing up and seeing if anything new is on the imminent horizon.

I would have to say my favorite chord is C, Eb, Gb, Bb
    Isn't that 4 chords

Or is it Cm7b5, which is great, I use it all the time.

As regards the forum, I look most days but its not been the same since "chat" went. It was something to look forward to on Friday and Sunday evening (here in UK that is)

I hereby own up to my "lurkerness".
In theory there is no difference between theory and practice, but in practice there is.

Yeah, C, Eb, Gb, Bb is a Cm7b5 or, in the academic, theoretical sense,
the "Half-Diminished" Seventh. They normally resolve up a fourth
degree to either a triad or a dominant/secondary dominant seventh......
depending on how it is used........
