Elegant Simplicity - Basic Steinway piano

Hi - I got press-ganged into buying the Basic version of Garritans Steinway...ok, more like it was suggested.

Must say, it's very nice. There's a beautiful tone from it - miles better than the GPO4 version.

So I wrote this little piece with it, and added a violin too. It's called Elegant Simplicity.

    Thanks Michael...hmmm, spam! <droooool>.

What strange spam, I like how my quote is so relevant to it. :-)

I'm loving that Steinway, and I'm itching to do more with it now.

Graham - sorry we had to twist your arm - (I only did it twice!) but the Steinway completes you and brings out your full potential. And I don't own shares in Garritan! It's just a really good piano and I am really fussy about the way pianos sound. Lovely composition BTW. The violin rendering (only) I have issues with but I don't know how much control you have about that. Piano sounds really good for this type of piece!

Ha! I remember how we bullied you into getting the Garritan Steinway--There can't be any comparison really. This is a big library dedicated to piano, while the Steinway in GPO is taking probably 1/100th of the sample space. So glad you went for the big boy--But I do wish the full Steinway was still available. Pity it's been unavailable from the Garritan site for some time now.

It's a really lovely piece, Too Short!---Oh my man, that could have gone on with a B section, a development, a recap etc--But I'll content myself with the lovely bit I heard.

I take it the violin in question, which is criticized on this thread, is a solo from GPO?--It's the same issue - the late, lamented Garritan Strad was an entire Library dedicated to a solo violin, and came out as one of The Best virtual instruments every produced, while the solo violins in GPO, of course, are a fraction of that size--and so it's not fair to compare them.

    Thanks for the lovely music.

    Randy
