    No News, So Sad

This has been the longest time that I have not seen a comment nor a post from Gary G., Tom Hopkins, or Tony Monaghan. It is as if they moved to another dimension. Maybe we have slipped out of the dimension and are in a time loop. I wish I knew.

I keep hoping for a sudden and vast revelation of new products from Garritan that will blow us all away!

It seems that the entire forum is dead. Too bad.

    Re: No News, So Sad

This is exactly why there are so often "when will (such and such library) be released?" threads on this forum.

We are getting no news from anyone official.
    Nothing.

We all understand that Garritan is a very small company. But be that as it may, we NEED to know that the company is still viable and that its user base is being kept up to date on any developments.

Gary G. has tried the "no news until there's something definite" approach. Obviously, that is not working out as well as he thought. How about a happy medium? Don't give us a release date every week, but at least let us know you're still alive and the company is still around. Tell us a BIT about what's going on.

Well, with all the new stuff out there these days, Garritan's flagship product, Garritan Personal Orchestra, has a difficult time being competitive. The library was released almost 10 years ago I think, and is sonically a little outdated to be honest. Unfortunately, a lot of the community that was here has just kind of moved on to other libraries since there hasn't really been any update to the library itself aside from additions to the brass and a choir patch. Garritan usually releases something once a year so maybe we'll see something later this year. Can't say for sure though.

    Patience, my friends and colleagues......

If anything were wrong with Garritan & Company, Gary would be the first one
to speak up. He endeavors to keep abreast of "what is out there" and go a little
beyond, only this takes some deep thought, strategic planning and beta testing.

I'm sure that Gary will be announcing something in the near future, so we, as a
sampling, musical community will just have to have faith; and, yes, a lot of our
members have investigated new libraries, but they are also patiently waiting and
watching. Notice how many "visitations" there are to numerous threads. A lot of
our old friends are still with us in a big way, but just not everyday as when a new
    library presented itself.

I think Gary knows we are overdue for something new, but let's not be too impatient
as that does influence strategic decisions.

What amazes me is the "forward thinking" Gary evidenced when he made GPO4 public.
The easy-reading manual, the easy-to-use software with a variety of enhancements, and
the nominal cost for every consumer made a statement that is hard to challenge.

I'm just grateful for the Garritan products that I possess and I thank Gary, on a daily
basis, for those products that make my music sound more alive.

But, rest assured,.......we'll see more soon.

I agree, Jack. I know we all want something new or to hear what's coming down the pipeline. You know, my loving partner wants to buy me a gift with some of the moneys she has just inherited from her dad's estate. I could honestly have about any library out there. Know what? I told her I'm happy with what I have and I'd rather wait for the next big library from Gary. I am extremely grateful for the libraries I now own, libraries which were only a fantasy not all that long ago. I can hear music I've written and it sounds pretty damn good (and is a whole lot better than my old Roland Sound Canvas!). I am as eager for the next big library as the rest of you, but I can wait.

I thank Gary for his vision, his creativity, and his desire to give his followers the best tools to do what we love best: write music!!!
