HDD access causing cracks and pops when sample is loaded into GS3

Hi all,

Can anyone provide any info on how to solve a problem where GS3 accesses an HDD for the sample, and when it does so causes cracks and pops? Once a sample is loaded it doesn't make any such noises. I only noticed it by accident as I was looking down at my PC while playing a note for testing purposes and noticed that the HDD light flickered at exactly the same time as the cracks/pops sounded over the sample.

Scrap that. Turns out that the M-Audio Audiophile 2496 card is where the issue is. I'll need to find an alternative.
