    Error in World?

Hi again. While perusing samples in World [looking for something that will approximate a cornett] I received an error when trying to load World>Percussion>Africa>Adodo. The error is:

    Aria Instrument Parser
    'curve redefinition error!:11'

The instrument would not sound. Any ideas or previous posts that I missed? Thanks.
In theory there is no difference between theory and practice, but in practice there is.

I get the same error message but the instrument is fully functional in my DAW.

no error messages here, Aria in Windows Vista 32bit. The adodo is fully functional.

On the downside.... it doesn' t sound like a cornett at all so, reber, this is not a problem anyway, go on browsing other patches HAHAHAHAHHAHA

Howdy, Chip! Long time no see!

I just checked - I get the same error message. But, as "Fastlane" Phil reported, the instrument works, and apparently the way it's intended.

--The Adodo is a percussion instrument, so not in the realm of the Medieval Coronet you're looking for.

I'm pretty sure I know why some of us see the error message and others don't: Those of us using Aria 1.128 see it, people on the previous Aria don't. Those of us who have 1.128 have Instant Orchestra, which requires the Aria update in order for the Library to function right. But exactly how all the other Garritan Libraries behave in 1.128 is something that hasn't been thoroughly tested. So, this ends up being a public Beta test!

Hi Randy and all! Yep I know it's not like a cornett! I just bumped into it while browsing patches. Terry suggested using flugels for the cornett sound and I've been playing with the upper registers of the Alphorns samples as well mixed with this and that. The cornett was sort of a small "serpent" - a curvy tube with finger holes like a flute, but it had a buzzed mouthpiece like a trumpet. It was usually combined with sackbuts which have been described as "trombones with a bus pass" (referencing UK senior citizen perks ).

I DO have Instant Orchestra now with the updated player so that's probably the issue. Once I got the error though I didn't pursue playing with the instrument thinking it might be missing something.

Nice to be back here. Instant Orchestra is a great thing. Since I use most of my sequences in the service of written music for live players, it would be a great thing to be able to see the actual notated orchestration of some of the orchestral and percussion effects - possibly a supplement to the manual? I would pay for that. It would help me transfer unfamiliar effects to a printed score in a live situation.

    Nice to be back here!

Maybe if I banged the cornett into a timpani?
