Check out Auria. It's a 48 track DAW for the iPad that can record up to 24 tracks of audio at once and that accepts third party VST plug-in effects that have been converted to iOS format. I read that it was programmed in machine code to accomplish this.

Check out the video at the bottom of the page.

No sequencing available but I'm sure that's coming as these things get more powerful.

Auria and Aria. Has a sort of ring to it.

I currently own a Mac-Pro desktop machine, an iPhone and an iPad and absolutely love them all.
I am very aware of some of the shortcomings of these products, but every company makes products with issues.

To me, Apple is very elegant in it's design and build quality, not to mention the hassle free operation.
Apple makes intuitive phenomenal products that are worth more than the competition's. Everyone tries to copy them. They set the standard by which all others are measured, I know I know,, cheap words,... but until you buy your first Apple product and find out how awesome the stuff is,.... you will say what I did ,,, NOW I know what those Apple people are talking about.

I also have a Dell desktop that I bought for GOS and GPO back in 2004 and it still works, but I never use it because every single time I turn it on it wants to do Microsoft and Adobe updates.

Randy that comic you posted is hilarious,, and so true ....

I do give Apple credit for their products, which are very well designed... just to clarify. It's not their products, but the company, that has turned me off, which as a bit of an electronics hardware fanatic, sort of sucks... :P

Thank you for your meditative contributions, folks. Now what I perceive is, that my iPad won't be able to play flash files because it won't. That probably means, that all flash contents like youtube clips are transformed into something, so that iPad&co can play them. Is it so?

Not quite, but I think you got the idea . The youtube videos themselves aren't changed, but rather than using a flash video player, a non-flash video player (which I believe comes preloaded on the iPad/etc.) is substituted in place and used to play the video data instead.

A quick search has also turned up some alternative browsers for the iPad which claim to be able to handle flash content. I have no idea how good or bad they are, but perhaps something to look into further.

The original version of your message made me curious, Matt.

Here's something clearly worth trying - Puffin Browser doesn't just claim to provide Flash service, that's something it definitely does. User comments on the page below make it clear that the Flash display is a bit sluggish, slower than on all the other things that can display Flash, i.e. laptops and desktops, but at least Puffin is filling a major gap in the crippled iPad's functioning:

You might also try this iPad browser.

Photon Flash Player Browser. It does cost five big ones but is built specifically for Flash.

Also you have to be 17 to download it. Frequent/Intense Sexual Content or Nudity

You made me look - when you said "five big ones," I thought you meant 5 BIG ones, but no it's just $5. Now that's a great price if it really fills in that missing gap. Good one, Phil.
