    "String Quartet Number Five" (Excerpt)

This is a short excerpt from the first movement of my "String Quartet Number Five".

I am in the process of rewriting and remixing this work, since it is exceedingly 'brash', loud and devoid of dynamics.

The instruments are GPO and East-West.

The Festivities continue, with another contribution from our favorite Texan composer - Yaaaah!

Very enjoyable, Larry - And well worth re-visiting. You don't mean you actually need to re-write it, you want to do some dynamics work I think is what you mean. -- You don't work just with notation I don't think, so messing up the start time of notes in your music program would be a worthy part of the re-do. There's a sound of over-perfection in the timing, don't you think?

Have fun working on it, and thanks for letting us hear.

There are many things wrong with it. So many, in fact, that I shouldn't have posted it in its present condition.

    Thanks for listening.

    Very nice.
It's worth waiting for the complete work.

    Hello Larry,

I liked your String Quartet Number 5. Loud and brash sounds like a Texan stereo type. I'm sure you'll get the upper hand on it soon.

I hope your staying cool down there in Tyler.

    It hit 68 here today.

    Hello again, Larry!

Who needs dynamics? As a percussionist, I can say I pretty much never pay attention to them, and once you get used to the director constantly fuming at you, dynamics just become staff-clutter

Either way, I really enjoyed this! Even if you feel it does sound loud and brash, it at least sounds quite clean and full to me. Thanks for the listen!

Thanks for the good words, Mister Michael. I will try to find the strength to digitize the rest of the quartet as soon as I can.

    My best to you.
