Probably a more or less familiar title. My good friend and fellow composer Fabio Biolcati wrote some time ago a kind of contrasting piece to my septet. I was very pleased with his complementary septet (Reflections in a Sunlight Day). Whereas I wanted to evoke rapidly changing thoughts (reflections) in a dark atmosphere (night) lit by the moon, Fabio presented a vivid contrast in broad sunny daylight. We both used the same instrumentation (flute, bassoon, 2 violins, viola, cello and bass).
