DIVA Classical Female Soloists - Important FAQ response

    DIVA FAQ’s

Many questions have come in via email this past week. I thought I would post an FAQ response about Diva Classical Female Soloists and three other libraries soon to follow from Bela D Media.

    Thank you,
    Francis Belardino
    Bela D Media

Q: What is Diva Classical Female Soloists?

A: Diva Classical Female Soloists is currently a GigaStudio native sample library.
It features two classical trained female vocalists that are full time choir soloists in the Philadelphia/New York area. Diva strives to capture the softer, ethereal side of the female voice. Not to say, the soloists do not punch it from time to time. The vocal expression ranges from pianissimo too mezzo forte. The vocal range is from c4 too as high as A5.

    Diva Ensembles 1-6.
This is a multi-samples section of instruments that blend the sustained vowels of one soloist and the moving vowels of another. The blend between
Sustained and moving is mod wheel controlled. As you ride the mod wheel you will hear the moving vowel fade in to the mix. Chords can be played as well. There are six versions of the above.

    Diva Sustained Vowels.
Ah, Oh, Oo, Ee and closed lip Mm. This section features physically sustained vowels from soloists one. The vibrato is true to the singer’s performance. As the vocalist sings are higher note, the volume and vibrato will increase. There is close mic versions that produce a bright and aggressive tone. There is far mic version that have been programmed with low pass filter and velocity controlled attack.
The far mic version will produce a distant, darker tone when played softly and return to a more aggressive tone when played forcefully.

    Diva Moving Vowels
Close and far mic versions from soloists 1 and 2.
    Multisamples.

    Crescendo Diminuendo vowels
This section features Crescendo Diminuendo vowels from soloists one.
The vibrato is true to the singer’s performance. As the vocalist sings a higher note, the volume and vibrato will increase. There are far mic versions programmed with low pass filter and velocity controlled attack.
The far mic version will produce a distant, darker tone when played softly and return to a more aggressive tone when played forcefully.

    Diva Marcato Vowels
This section was created via the use of both soloists. All the above-mentioned vowels are covered. Again, there is close and far mic version and release sample version as well. Key switching between vowels and soloists are apart of Diva Updates version 2.
The updates are free and will be ready almost immediately.

    Diva Syllables.
This is a massive section of sung syllables from both soloists. The syllables range from Bieh too Qeh. There are 52 syllables from soloists one and 52 from soloists two.
    Soloists one sections 1-4.
    Soloists two sections 1-4.

    Diva Performance Files.
Last, but equal in importance, is a trilogy of mood driven performances patches.

Cruse of the Crow - soloist one. 17 performances mapped out as a GigaStudio instrument.

Soul of Spirits - soloist two. 16 performances mapped out as a GigaStudio instrument.

Mournful Cry – soloists two. 11 performances mapped out as a GigaStudio instrument.

Performance files are professional sung performances in 3 keys. E minor – F# Minor and A minor. They can be sent to a mutlitrack editor and edited for variations. They are not loops.
Naturally legato, vibrato and mouth noise are featured.
