New Emagic Convolution Reverb

Check it out here: http://www.emagic.de/home/news/index.php?lang=EN

Hopefully it will be as good as Altiverb, and cheaper too! Can\'t wait to try GOS with this one...

That\'s a very interesting link! Thanks for that Ned.

It looks like the real-time convolution reverb is taking off after Samplitude got there first. It\'ll be interesting to see what developments there are for those of us who are on PCs.

Apple/Emagic rules! I love all of their development and way of thinking.

One point of interest is, how does this all fit together with the new VST convolution reverb? Will it be possible to run both without running out of processor juice? Will VST offer impulses that can be imported into the Emagic plugin? Does it matter?

Re: New Emagic Convolution Reverb

Midphase, what do you mean by VST? Are you referring to Cubase?

As for importing impulses, I don\'t if the Emagic verb will let us do that, but then again, it does come with... 1,000 impulses!!!

Re: New Emagic Convolution Reverb

If anybody wants to buy my Altiverb for cheap, let me know. Man I just bought it 2 weeks ago. It\'s great, but I wish I knew about this a bit sooner. Oh well....

It\'s still early to be sure, but from what I\'ve been reading here and there, this could be one expensive baby. I say hold on to your Altiverb...

I\'m assuming that Logic 6.3 for all versions is also not too far off.
I just hope you don\'t practially need a G5 to use it.

<font size=\"2\" face=\"Verdana, Arial\">Sorry, I meant to say VSL.

Rumors from dealers would put the price right around $399-499.

Release date is according to Emagic by the end of this month.

Re: New Emagic Convolution Reverb

Oh god.. now you have two nice reverb impulse plugins on Mac. Still zero on PC (except for SIR which isn\'t realtime). Steinberg or whoever... get your act together.

Re: New Emagic Convolution Reverb

The UK distributor site says it is expected to cost £449 inc VAT. That\'s around $700!!!! UK shipments due at the end of the month so I suppose 6.3 would be due about then too.
