Radium USB Controller (Review)

Scale of 1-10

1 = Poor
10 = Awesome

Ease of Install (Win XP) = 10

Use with Gigastudio (MIDI Setup) = 7
*have to restart PC to take effect. Not told.

Use with Gigastudio (Control/Automation) = 10

Use with sample libraries such as GOS = 10

Programming MIDI control assign = 7

Feel of keys = 8 (Best synth action out there)

Global Velocity adjust for playing style = 10

Aftertouch = 10 (But why dont sample delv use this feature???)

Construction = 7 (seems like ya gotta go easy on the buttons)

Look = very cool!

***Demo software on Install CD = 2
(Careful. Stole/lost my CDRW drive for some reason on install of a demo program)

All and all. I love it. Sleek. Powerful.

Tons of control. However, custom assigns get lost
if you power down. Huh? OK!

Easy to twist knobs and move sliders while playying.

Octave UP and DOWN key...very cool and easy to use.

Thought it would act as a controller for audio software such as Vegas Video 4.0. Don\'t think it does Thought it would. Vol/Pan of audio track.

Hope this helps if anyone is thinking about this bad boy.

PS. ZZounds. $239.99 & $19.99 2 day shipping.
A painless purchase.

Thanks, Francis! How heavy is this thing? I like a nice, light keyboard. I have an Ensoniq TS-12 now, I use it solely as a controller.. but it\'s damn heavy, due to the semi-weighted keys.

How\'s 13lbs sound to ya?

Still trying to see if it will control audio recording functions... think not?

Next toy on the list.... USB Audio controller.

Re: Radium USB Controller (Review)

I have a Radium and find it to be difficult to program drums on because if i play the keys fast, it retriggers the sound on the key up. Ive tried messing with the velocity settings and to no avail.

Anyone have any ideas on how to get this to stop occuring?
