    Dark story

    Since we are busy with "music videos" I thought doing this also. With a PC it is some job, I'd wished having a MAC for this. Now from program A to B, then C for the sound, then SONAR as well for the sync, then again program B, then.....

    Here it is (the MP4 version begins with a "hick", not my fault, it is the conversion program)

    It is raining outside, so .........enjoy (or not)

    Raymond - still laughing.
    [PS. If I am right, the piano is the Steinway Authorized]

    Hi Raymond,

    That was great ... the music was very broad and dramatic. You have quite a way with writing for the basses! (I always liked that begining of your 1st Symphony).

    The ending: Hahahahahah ... Raymond stomping out a rag ... PERFECT!!!!! Loved that few seconds of ragtime piano ... civilization lives!!!!

    Raymond, that was great. I loved the story and music, and the ending theme! Great work! I truly do enjoy when I can see the words that describe the music!

    I loved this! Those deep menacing sounds get me every time. Very entertaining, the soundtrack is fabulous and the ending was a hoot. Really enjoyable.

    Did I hear the "Waterphone" at the beginning? I liked it so much in your symphony, I ended up getting the samples from Richard Waters' site. More great toys to play with along with the "Chimera" that Randy so generously put up.

    Great fun!

    Re: Dark story

    Good morning folks,

    I had a good laugh making this. It involved more work, than I thought at first.

    • Collecting the photos from Internet;
    • Making the text story (with a humourous twist and some degree of bombastic words);
    • Set the photos in the same sequence as the story with Windows Movie Maker, generating the pre-wmv;
    • Putting the texts together with the photos;
    • Calling SONAR, importing that wmv file (import video is a function of SONAR);
    • Choosing the music, importing the tracks into SONAR and synchronize them with the video images (hard work);
    • Running a test if everything fitted (needed some correctional steps);
    • Render the music file only;
    • Put that music wave file under the pre-wmv (in fact the Movie Maker project);
    • Adjusting some timing;
    • Making the new file, images and music combined to a new wmv file, formatted to use on a computer;
    • With Freemake Video Comversion (a free downloadable program) I made it ready for MP4;
    • Uploaded it to Youtube and told you about this;
    • It all consumed most of the hours of that rainy saturday.

    The snippets of music are from (sync'ed with the images):

    1. Symphony 2 - part 1
    2. Symphony 1 - part 4
    3. Symphony 2 - part 2
    4. Symphony 1 - part 1
    5. Overture 1
    6. and finally The Ragtime Dance, composed by Scott Joplin and "played" by me (rendered from MIDI).

    Only the piano was Garritan Authorized Steinway (an old recording). For the rest the Galactic Patriotic Orchestra wasn't involved, sorry.

    Have a fine sunday,

    Raymond

    What a very clever collection of music and images. I loved it. The music seemed to fit just right with the fantastic art that you presented. Where did you get all those cool creature shots. A very nice job. Thanks for posting this. Jay

    Googling for images of : deserted places, aliens worlds, galaxy, aliens, weird aliens, and a lot more alike. As simple as that. OK, when you Google for demons, you also get a lot of famous people, some porn, some presidents(!).... etc. This area of Google is rather polluted.

    I won't be the next Spielberg!!!

    Having a Mac has advantages (sometimes), but they are so standardised. I can't insert any more RAM, because there is a limit (4 GB). That will probably be 8 GB in the newest iMacs, but as I know you, that is not enough for a single line of music. A power Mac is probably a better, but expensive option...
