    Compatible MIDI interface for GigaStudio...

I\'m about to purchase Garritan Orchestral strings with the GigaStudio 160 bundle, but I\'m a little confused about what kind of MIDI interface I will need. If GigaStudio supports 160 channels, am I going to be handicapping myself by purchasing a 32-channel MIDI interface (the interface will only be used to go between my MIDI controller and my CPU)? I don\'t have very deep pockets right now so I don\'t want to spend more on a MIDI interface than absolutely necessary.

I have the same bundle you have mentioned. All I have is a 1 in /1 out USB midi interface. All you really need is something to send midi from your keyboard into your computer.

Just record your midi parts one at a time into your sequencer then you can have the sequencer play back your 160 voices all at once!

By the way Giga 160 has 64 midi channels and is 160 note polyphonic.

The Edirol (Roland) UM series USB adapters have very low latency when you use their special USB drivers. They are also plug\'n\'play and appear as a standard USB MIDI device if you don\'t load the drivers.
