    Birthday Waltz

    To all my NS friends.

Tomorrow is my birthday (60) and I treat myself and all of you with a little trifle, a waltz-like arrangement of the Happy Birthday tune. It was just fun to do this, specially while I was working with the VSL Special Edition Strings for the first time. Quite difficult to learn all the possibilities and tweaking aids in the interface, but the best way is using it and trying to improve the basic sound.

    Birthday Waltz

    I hope you enjoy it.

Happy birthday Max! Did you write the new melody after about half thru? I liked it. There are so many versions of VSL out there. Which version do you have?
This is a nice listen. Thanks for posting. Jay

Thanks Jay. I use the Strings (solo and ensemble) first edition of the Special Edition (1 and 1+).

And indeed, I've written the middle section as a contrast (partly minor) to the rest.

    Max,
Another delight from your fertile imagination!

I am listening to this as I am drinking a glass of
wine to finish celebrating my 61st birthday today! (8 January)

So, from one "Steenbok" to another--HAPPY BIRTHDAY
and thanks for all your contributions.

Happy birthday, Max!-- What a great idea to celebrate your birthday by producing your own celebratory music - and you did it so well. My wife came in while I was listening, tapped me on the shoulder and said we must waltz!

Very nice work in this - sounds great. Happy Birthday!

Thanks Phil. I will enjoy the new strings, from the very moment I understand how they function properly (with Notion).

Thank you Randy. And don't hesitate, if you feel like waltzing, please do.

This morning, I've made some little changes to the arrangement and to the mix. I'm not totally pleased with the sound of the violas and their cooperation with Notion. The violins do a great job (as well as the cellos and the basses).
