Wah-Wah Effect - JABB Brass In Sonar

I see that JABB does have a good selection of mutes for the brass instruments.

Is there a wah-wah effect lurking in there somewhere and if so can anyone help me to create this effect.

I'm talking about managing this in Sonar. I'm not even going to try going down this road in Finale .. er .. just yet

I'm particularly keen to have the wah-wah effect with trumpets and trombones.

I'd really be grateful if someone can take me through this if it can be done.

    Thanks.

Michael, my machine is tied up right now with burning a big video project, so I can't open ARIA and check on this. But have you tried the Plunger Mute instruments? It's been ages since I tried them, but I think they may be what you're looking for.

    From the manual, p.58:

"Plunger Mute (CC#16): There are two instruments in the library (one trumpet and one trombone) that use filtering to simulate plunger mute effects. MIDI controller CC#16 controls the “open/close” action of the mute."

    Hello Randy,

    Thanks for the reply.

I have it working so I just need to experiment to find the best effect.

I hope your video works out OK.

Good deal, Michael - I take it you mean you're using those Plunger Mutes?

Video turned out fine - thanks for asking. I now have it posted here in General Discussion:

Have fun getting your wah wah on!
