ILIO EDM Fire update - will we need to manually repair old user multis?

    Thanks for the update ILIO!

I'm guessing that since it seems all the patches were renamed and moved any user multis put together
using the original EDM Fire patches will need to be manually repaired?

    Thanks,

    Steve

Yes, it is nice to get an update for the soundbank.

You will have to manually repair the multis and of course any tracks you have on the go, say in Cubase, that point to the old patches in Omnisphere.

But, seeing as how the new bank is structured in a different folder (to accommodate Ignition), why not keep the old bank until you make the changes. It's not massive disk space being taken up and you can either amend your tracks and multis or keep both banks.
    Just a thought.

I must say though that it made me feel guilty when I read about the Orb - I'd forgotten all about it (sorry Eric & Co)

Keeping the old original structure, and also adding the new, would be a nightmare when browsing ALL.
The result would be duplicate sounds and with different names because all of the patches have been renamed in the new release.

Good point - but I was only offering a short term solution while you sorted your multi's & tracks out. I suppose the alternative would be working semi-blind & guessing what some of the patches have been renamed to.

One good thing to come out of this - at least 2 of us still exist in this forum - way too quiet lately.

    Yes.
But the quiet might be a good thing meaning everything is working and everyone is too busy writing music to be here. :-)

On the short term, I made a note of the original path in a .txt file and copied the old directory to my backup drive in case I need
to put it back to find / fix something.

Actually, you can remove the older directories as your songs and Multis will load perfectly, exactly the way you left them.

Any edits you make to any patches in Omnisphere are saved with the song.

Thanks Les! I just stumbled upon this thread and I can confirm that any songs saved with the original patches will save those patches and any modifications, within the song. In other words (to those reading this thread) the new patch directory structure update will not affect you in a negative manner. It actually will improve your experience with the third-party patch libraries from ILIO (and you'll get some new patches too!).

Thanks Neil! Your comments are much appreciated! With the new directory structure it's going to be much easier for us to update the patches with new sounds. I'm working on some new arpeggios for EDM - Ignition, for example that I'll send out as soon as their ready!
